The government has launched two electronic auctions to allocate grid connection capacity to renewable energy projects with associated storage and to standalone electricity storage facilities.

The two procedures, published in the Diário da República on October 22, provide for a total of up to 1,050 MVA of capacity: 300 MVA for renewable energy generation projects with associated storage and 750 MVA for standalone storage facilities.
