ABOUT EXIDE
In 1888, W.W. Gibbs founds Exide's predecessor company, the Electric Storage Battery Company. After acquiring patents to make the storage battery a commercial product, the batteries were marketed towards electric fighting companies.
Exide Technologies introduced the first Start-Stop AGM and EFB batteries to the market, ushering in an era of start-stop vehicles. It has also introduced next-generation lithium storage solutions, from fast-charging forklift batteries to energy storage in off-grid telecom base stations.
